Initial situation
For role-playing groups, character management, communication, scheduling, dice and session tools are often spread across different applications. UnderworldNexus brings these functions together in one browser-based platform. That is the motivation behind the project – not a market study.
Problem
Running a group means switching between character sheets, chat, calendar and dice tools. The information belongs together but sits in different places.
Goal
Bring the recurring tasks of a role-playing group into one platform – with clear permissions and without groups having to hand their content to the outside.
Solution
Development of a modular web platform where users manage characters, organise RP groups and use tools for running sessions directly in the browser.
- One account, several characters: name, colour, avatar and gallery; several characters in parallel browser tabs
- Step-by-step wizards for character creation covering D&D, DSA 5, Vampire V5, Werewolf W5 and a custom system, with point-based validation of the values
- RP groups with a forum, internal mail, calendar, group join workflow, rank and permission system and a session-log archive
- Live tools for running sessions: dice, RP poses and chat commands, maps with tokens and field of view, handouts with image uploads, initiative tracker, session timers and BBCode formatting
- Discord integration through webhooks: official sessions are mirrored into the Discord channel and the voice link connects to the chat room tools
- Content and visibility protection: private and hidden rooms, group-scoped visibility, protected character galleries and internal mail
Result
A working web platform in public alpha with several integrated functional areas, under active development.
Business value
A group keeps characters, agreements, dates and session tools in one place instead of spreading them across several services.
